How long have you been playing basketball? – 8 years.

What made you start playing? – When I was little me and my dad would go outside in the driveway and play. I loved doing it, so I decided to play. It was the best decision I ever made.

What do you love most about basketball? – I love being able to be on a court and playing with my teammates, also I love to feel the fun of winning.

What position do you feel most comfortable playing? – I’ll play anywhere because in basketball you are going to be in uncomfortable situations, so you have to know how to play every position.

What is your strongest basketball skill? – Shooting and defense.

What skill are you working hardest to improve right now? – My ball handling and rebounding.

How would Coach Malik describe your game? – High basketball IQ, hard working, attention to detail and I lead by example.

What do you focus on before tip-off? – I try to focus on myself so I can shoot better, defend better and play better for my team.

How do you stay confident during a tough game?  I stay confident by putting in more effort and slowing my mind down.

What does playing hard mean to you? – Playing hard for me means to hustle on both ends of the floor.

What makes a great teammate?  – Someone who creates opportunities for their teammates, keeps the team up when things are down and staying positive.

How do you contribute to your team even when you’re not scoring? – Assists, defense, rebounding, making smart decisions and being a leader.

Do you see yourself as a leader? Why or why not? – I see myself as a leader. Even though I’m not vocal, I feel like I lead with my actions.

One goal you have for this season -I hope to be more confident with my ball handling.

One long-term basketball goal -To make a name for myself in Owen County by winning the All A State Tournament.

What level do you hope to play at in the future? – College

Favorite pre-game song or artist – “Let It All Work Out” – Lil Wayne

Favorite basketball player (current or all-time) – Caitlyn Clark or MJ

Why do you look up to that player? – Even though she has a bad attitude at times, she has the drive to score. Not only that, she creates scoring opportunities for her teammates.

Favorite food after a game – Chick-fil-a

Favorite subject in school – Reading/ELA

One word that describes your game – Hardworking.

One message you want people to know about you as a player – I want to be good at the game. Not just naturally good but know it takes time. I’m willing to work and be dedicated to getting better and be successful.

What would you tell someone who wanted to join Cyclones Academy? – I would tell them it’s an amazing program that will help you grow and be a better basketball player. Coach Malik is one of the best coaches you can find. He is going to teach you the game of basketball while also preparing you for the future.
