How long have you been playing basketball? – 9 years.

What made you start playing? – I wanted to be like my Mom.

What do you love most about basketball? – The competition and improving

What position do you feel most comfortable playing? – Center

What is your strongest basketball skill? – Defense, shot blocking and rebounding.

What skill are you working hardest to improve right now? – Shooting.

How would Coach Malik describe your game? – Good post defense.

What do you focus on before tip-off? – Having a good mindset.

 

 How do you stay confident during a tough game?  Work hard on defense and focus on playing the game.

What does playing hard mean to you? – It means putting in effort even when it’s difficult or tiring. It’s staying focused on my goals and not giving up when things get rough.

What makes a great teammate?  – A good teammate will make you work hard and challenge you in practice but after they leave everything on the court and you are still friends.

How do you contribute to your team even when you’re not scoring? – Contributing could mean many things, in the game, on the bench or in the locker room.

Having good sportsmanship and being a good teammate helps the team. In game situations, setting screens and cutting completely changes the game when done correctly.

Do you see yourself as a leader? Why or why not? – I see myself as a leader.

One goal you have for this season – The goals I have for this season is to work hard and get better at skills I’m not good at.

One long-term basketball goal – To enjoy playing the sport and finish my high school career.

What level do you hope to play at in the future? – I hope to play until my senior year.

Why do you look up to that player? – She works hard.
